School Information

Here are some guidelines and information in regards to the whole school.

Attendance
Parents must call the office (208-855-4090) if a student will be absent or late. The staff will call the household or parents' places of employment if the school is not notified about an absence. Attendance is an important part of our school improvement plan. Students who arrive late must come to the office and sign in. If your child will be late and wants to order lunch, please call before 9:00 and let the office know.

Arrival Time
Student arrival time is 8:40 am. First through fifth grade students should be dropped off at the front doors (parking lot by the playground). Students who are late for school must enter the office doors. Students who eat breakfast at school may enter the cafeteria then return to playground.

Dismissal Time
Student dismissal time is 3:40 pm. Students in first through fifth grade should be picked up outside the front doors (parking lot by the playground). Please do not expect students to cross the parking lot unaided. Pick them up at the sidewalk and walk them back to your vehicle. We ask that parents be patient, stay in one lane, and pull as far forward as possible to allow us to load students into as many cars as possible as quickly as possible.

Visiting the School
School security demands that we operate the building on lock-down after 8:30 daily. All visitors must come in the office doors, sign the visitor book, and receive a security badge.

Taking a Student Out of Class
If you need to schedule appointments for your child during the school day, you can pick them up by coming to the office. The office staff will call the classroom and have the student come to the office. You will need to sign the student out. If they are returning to class, you will need to bring them back to the office and sign them in again.

Lunch
Lunch time varies by grade level. First and second graders eat at 11:30; third and fourth graders eat at 12:00; fifth graders eat at 12:30. Lunch orders are taken first thing in the morning. The lunch program offers students some choices. Lunch menus are provided to students. Lunch money is paid ahead to have money in an account for your child. Lunch cost is $1.60.

Early Dismissal
Several times throughout the school year school will have an early dismissal. This is done to accommodate parent/teacher conferences and school improvement activities for the staff. Early dismissal is at 1:40. You will need to make a plan for your child's care in the afternoon and to let your child know what they are expected to do at dismissal time. Lunch will be served to students before dismissal.
